Retelling The Story We Have

Sep 24, 2017

Hey everyone – just a reminder that we are at Pantages this week (September 24th), but at another location next week (October 1st).  I quite enjoy the space we’re in at Pantages, and I’m grateful to all the parties that make it possible for us to be there. That said,I think it’ll be quite interesting to be in a different space. We’re embodied souls, so we’re impacted by things like the spaces we’re in. On October 1st, we’ll be gathering in an historic building in the Exchange that was built in late 1800’s as a dance hall. It’s a place of dance once again; during the week it’s the home of the HepCat Dance Studio. Whoop!  I’ll put more info into next weeks blurb, but for now you can make a mental note that we’ll be in the same part of the city (only a couple of blocks from Pantages), and that we’ll have to climb a couple of flights of stairs to get to our gathering space. If that means bringing a bike lock along, plan ahead.

Kids Table will be in full flight ongoing. The team of folks that is caring for our littles could still use some more participants (a roughly once a month commitment), so if you are wondering if that might be calling your name, please talk to Amy. If you want to reach her by email, let me know by replying to this email, and I’ll help that happen.

The Talky Bit – you know, sometimes when I sit down to write out what I’m aimed at on a Sunday morning, it’s pretty clear and it kind of comes out without a lot of ambiguity or strain. Other times, it feels a bit like I’m chasing the wind, and my job is just to keep at it and see where I end up. This week felt more like that. But…I did end up somewhere; a sort of combined consideration of why we’re afraid of retelling familiar stories, and a return to our current exploration about our evolving moral brains. Hard to put into a sentence, so I’ll use several of them on Sunday.  I look forward to sharing the time with you all.

See you on Sunday.

Peace,

Tim Plett
