What Makes A Space Feel Like Home?

Hey folks – this Sunday marks an exciting time for us as a community. Since VA Cafe went out of business, we’ve been looking for a new place that would be central and accessible. We also have a positive history in the Exchange District, so we’re excited to be returning to that part of the city! As promised, I’ve got some more details about the venue, which I will provide below, as well as a short video that shows you how to find your way to our gathering space. I’ll link to that video at the bottom of this blurb.

When we gather this week, some of what we’ll do will be familiar (Community Time, for instance), and we’ll also spend some time getting to know our new space in a more deliberate way that can help us connect it with our reason for existing as a community – exploring what we believe. We’ll get started at 10:45 and wrap up by noon. We’ll livestream (here). Because of what we’ll be doing as a group, there will not be a podcast from this gathering.

OK – the details:
Address: 221 – 100 Arthur Street. (In other words, 100 Arthur Street, second floor)
Access: street level doors on both the Arthur Street and King Street sides of the building will be unlocked from 10:25 – 11:15 am. After that, you can leave the building at any time, but you won’t be able to get in without someone coming to let you in. Kind of like the Hotel California, but in reverse. I know – dated reference, but come on…it’s a classic. 🙂
Accessibility: As you’ll see in the attached video, there is a lift that bypasses the stairs. It’s on the King Street side of the building, so if stairs are a challenge for you, use that entry. Once you get to the lobby level, there is an elevator to the second floor. It sometimes takes a while to arrive when summoned, but it does work. Patience may be required.
Coffee: this is a “bring your own” coffee venue. Plan accordingly. 🙂
