Mother's day, May 12
We will, of course, note and celebrate the life-giving presence of the Mom’s in our midst. Our community has many different shapes that are called “family”, and each of those shapes has a unique relationship to the person and / or role we use the word “mother” for. In most cases, motherhood is vitally related to life – both it’s genesis and it’s nuturance. We always need to honor and cherish that, and this week in particular we will stop to acknowledge it.
We will also have the privilege of hearing from a “round table panel” – a multi-voice conversation about the Idle No More movement. If you are a regular part of The Table, you will recognize most of the voices. Our special guest will be Jordan Bighorn. Jordan is particularly involved with First Nations youth, and will be the central voice in this conversation.
Some other important details:
-We will be switching to Monday nights starting on June 17th. Summer gatherings will begin at 6:30 p.m. at 318 Ross.
-We are begining a planning conversation about a date for a Baptism Gathering in September. If you are interested in being baptised, or in a conversation about why that might be worth considering, let me know. You can talk to me in person at a gathering, or reach me by email at <tim@thetablewinnipeg.com>
-This week we will gather at 10:30 a.m. at 318 Ross (The Frame Arts Warehouse). I’ll see you there!
Peace,
Tim Plett
