Flashback Sunday

Mar 31, 2019

Hey folks – despite the subject line, I’m not planning to show any bad music videos from previous decades. Tempting though…very tempting. But not this time. This time, we’re only going to flash back a few weeks. Three Sundays ago we had what we called a “Check In” Sunday. It was a chance to consider the nature of our experiences at The Table; to look in on ourselves as a community and offer some reflection and feedback about what we saw. In the intervening weeks, two people from The Table have shared deeply personal stories with us; stories about struggling to resolve difficult issues, to deeply engage ethical challenges, to find hope in the midst of suffering. I’m so grateful for the courage of the story tellers and the warm receptivity of the community. Those were good, important gatherings.

This week, I want to revisit some of the feedback from our Check In Sunday and begin to connect those ideas to the sorts of stories we are living out every day – the sorts of stories we’ve sat with over the past two weeks, the stories we hear on the news. There’s lot to explore. Let’s get to it.

We’ll meet at Creative Manitoba; Kids Table will be on, coffee will be on…it’ll be good to be together.

I’ll see you on Sunday.

Peace,

Tim Plett
