I was watering some of the flowers in our yard yesterday morning. It wasn’t super early, but early enough that the angle of the light was still closer to the horizon, so when I watered a batch of purple pansies the sun struck the water droplets in a way that almost made me gasp. I don’t know if this will make sense without the experience of “the moment”, but it felt like ALL beauty was somehow in those drops of water, those flowers, that sunlight.

We’re not gathering as a community this weekend – it’s part of our tradition (it makes me chuckle to write that) – but that doesn’t mean we need to take a hiatus from watching for all the ways in which we are surrounded by what is lovely and good and inspiring. So get out there…and I’ll see you next Sunday. That gathering will be a later afternoon / early evening pot luck and hang out at our house in East St Paul. Details will follow.

Peace,
Tim Plett
