Declutter Your Religious Closet

May 5, 2019
Hey…it’s spring, right? Right? Can’t tell today because it’s too cold, but the calendar says it’s spring so I’m going with that. And in spring (at least in our house) there sometimes seems to be an increased motivation to tidy up the place. In the interest of fuller disclosure, it’s worth noting that we’ve just moved so our spring cleaning has been in hyperdrive, but even under normal circumstances this time of year comes with housecleaning. Which got me thinking about religious housecleaning and whether there might be something analogous there to explore.

So this Sunday we’re going to launch into some spring cleaning of our respective religious closets. Come prepared to do a bit personal reflecting (not out loud, unless you choose to) about what you might have stashed away that could use a second look regarding it’s present day usefulness. As with material decluttering, the process might be a bit of a pain but the results will be liberating. Come and see…

Kids Table is on, the fish will be in their bowl, the symbols will be waiting for us to invest them with meaning…and the people will be present for one another. It’ll be good. We’ll meet at Creative Manitoba around 10:30 a.m.

I’ll see you on Sunday.

Peace,

-Tim Plett
