This Week at the Cacophony…
Hello Tablers! This week we’re gathering today (Wednesday) for the first time in the summer season. Kathy Francise will be taking care of the talky bit, getting us off on the right foot (or the proper foot, to be more inclusive). Here is her blurb about where she is headed in our gathering this evening:
The Winnipeg Jazz Festival is coming up… and I plan to be one of those who takes my lunch break at the free concerts at The Cube. I love the way jazz moves between everyone playing together and giving room for expression of the individual.
I want to explore that theme… together with you. We all are unique instruments, not necessarily of the musical variety. We may be instrumental in bringing joy, comfort, instruction, correction, practical help or all of the above.
This Wednesday, I invite you to participate in the prayer of “make me an instrument” by bringing with you any instrument you play – be it stringed (non-electric), wind, brass, percussion or simply your voice… and an adventurous spirit.

Two other items of note – our gathering time throughout the summer will be 6:30, and as is usually the case, there will be no regular Kids Table. We sadly acknowledge the fact that both this gathering schedule and the suspension of the Kids Table can make this season a more challenging one for some folks. We’re evaluating that with each passing year, and will continue to do so. We’ll keep you posted.
Peace to you all,
Tim Plett
