Long Weekend, Short Blurb, Blurring Time (?) plus Kids Table
Hey folks – welcome to the May long weekend! If you were planning to go camping, may I recommend joining us instead? The forecast is on my side in this one. 🙂
The film is a short, self-shot doc called “Blurring Time” from a young Canadian singer named Belles Larsen. It’s a beautifully, startlingly intimate account of Belle’s gender transition, and also a glimpse into his choice to record an album of the same title while going through the process, including choosing to sing duets between his higher pre-trans voice and his lower post-trans one. The film will both stand on its own and serve as a jumping-off point for some conversation about what it’s like to traverse the ground of changing identity, something that can happen in many aspects of our lives, including those parts having to do with reconsidering what we believe. I’ll include a link to the film below for those who wish to watch it in advance or who won’t be able to join in person.
Peace,
