This Week At The Ranch…
Hello Tablers! This coming Sunday we WILL NOT be at Pantages. We will be meeting at the Plett house (hereafter referred to as “the ranch”, despite the only animal on the place being a very small dog). We will gather at 10:30. We’ll have a bit of a gathering time, more (even more?) laid back, and the young ones will be with us for more of that time than usual before they head for the lower floor, which is pretty much a kids’ happy place. We’ll sing, we’ll consider (briefly) a couple of further thoughts about alternative orthodoxy, and then we’ll eat!
Yep – this coming Sunday will be our first Souper Sunday of this season. If this is new to you, it goes like this:
It’s basically a pot luck, with the emphasis on soups. If you bring soup or something else that’s hot, put it in a container that can either be plugged in to keep it warm or kept warm on the stove. We only have one stove top, so option “a” would be ideal. Or you could bring a salad, some buns, or a desert. Or you could just show up and eat. If you forget and suddenly remember on the drive out, don’t turn around. The people that remembered will still love you and feed you.
After lunch, everyone is welcome to hang out. Eventually, it will somehow mysteriously become apparent that the party is over and it’s time to go home. I don’t know how this works – as mysteries go, it’s up there with the “e” in “e=mc2” and gravity and the trinity.

Also, Kim Hildebrand asked if I could include the following invitation to the community of The Table to join her at the annual YFC fundraiser. Do take a moment to consider the invite, and to respond by Sunday if you would like to attend.
I’ll see you on Sunday.
Peace,
