Perspective Matters
November 8, 2015
Hello Tablers! For as long as there have been wise people observing human behavior, it has been understood that we humans are limited in our ability to perceive reality. As hard as we might try, we tend to see what we expect or want to see, and we have a tough time considering things from multiple vantage points. It’s an important truth to acknowledge, and it’s an important challenge to try to address. This Sunday, with the able assistance of Kathy Francis, we’re going to take a shot at that. Here’s what Kathy has to say about where her exploration is headed:
My mom recently bought some shimmery, silver fabric for an art banner she was making. After cutting and putting it in place, she discovered that from one side of the room, the fabric looked black – not at all the look she was after. So, she removed it and resumed her search for the right fabric. (I’m happy to say that the final product is beautiful and worth the extra effort.)
Life, too, can look very different depending on our viewpoint. Perspective – does it matter? If you could, would you want to catch a glimpse of God’s point of view?
I invite you this Sunday, to put on your hiking shoes (figuratively) and join me in climbing the Mount of Perspective.
Kathy
I’m intrigued!
And just a reminder – November 15th is packed with goodness; Kids Table, Souper Sunday, and Parent/Child Dedication. Tell your phone to remind you…
We’ll see you on Sunday!
Peace,
