Not Quite Christmas – A Family Jam

As in “jam session”, not “family recipe for zucchini jam”. Did I really need to explain that? Probably not, but these are strange times so I thought, out of an abundance of caution, I would explain, explain, and explain. 🙂
And, just to be sure, let me say it another way. When we gather at Justin’s place on Sunday EVENING, there will be lots of music and not a lot of talking, at least not from the front of the room. ‘Tis the season for music, right? And I feel like we’ve had a pretty idea-heavy, Talky Bit intensive fall. So less of that, and more music please.
We will be loosely guided by the theme of “peace”; our longing for it, our attempts at building it, our failures along the way, and what keeps our hope for it alive. Come ready to enjoy a kicked-back evening of tunes, some silly, some more serious, and to do a bit of singing yourself. In these sometimes distressing days, I can’t think of a better way to spend some time!
Some details:
Time – doors at 6:00, “program” at 6:30. P.M. Not morning – there’s nothing Table-ish happening in the morning. It won’t be a drawn out affair; we’ve got people that need to get Littles to bed because…Monday.

Covid Protocols – proof of vaccination and masks indoors. Bah, humbug. And we’ll do it anyway.

Kids Table – well, I don’t want to give anything away, but there will definitely be something for the kids that is NOT for the adults. 🙂
Community Time – we won’t pause for Community Time during this evening, but since life doesn’t suddenly stop happening just because it’s late December, post anything you want the community to know about to our Facebook page. We can still journey together, even while we’re apart.
Livestream – yes, we’ll do that. You can find us online here, probably starting a bit before (but not later than) 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. There will not be a podcast of this event.
And Lunch After – that’d be silly, right? Because we’re gathering in the evening, so it would be “Evening Snack After”, which just sounds weird…and also won’t be happening. 🙂
The Wednesday Evening Hangout – also taking a holiday during the holidays. It’ll be back. Watch this space for the details.
