Exploring the Edges
Hello Tablers. My office is in the basement, which means that the window isn’t all that large, and it’s relatively high on the wall. So when I’m sitting at my desk and I look out the window, what I see is a rectangle of sky with the tops of a couple of trees cutting through it. This morning that slice of sky is deep, clear blue, and the tree branches have buds on them that seem like they are just holding their breath, waiting for the right moment to burst into that unique green that I can’t help rhapsodizing about whenever it happens. For me, those things all feel like signs of hope and life and joy. They feel like God talking to me, and reminding me that no matter what the challenges of winter may be, spring will come.
I get that for lots of people, the idea that those things are God talking does not compute. For some of those folks, the reason is that it’s an idea that comes more from the edges of the meaning map than it does from the center. That’s the terrain we’ll be exploring this Sunday morning – the relationship between the center of a meaning map and the edges.
And yes…we are still meeting on Sundays. We will begin meeting on Wednesday evenings starting on May 25th. Our last Sunday gathering before the summer will be on May 15th. There will be no gathering on May 22nd.
At the other end of the of the summer, we will resume Sunday morning gatherings on September 11th. There will be no Wednesdaygathering on September 7th. For more details, or just to be reminded, check the web site. As far as location goes, assume it’s staying as is for the summer. If that changes, I promise we’ll let you know.
Our gathering time will be 6:30 p.m.
I’m looking forward to exploring with all of you…
Peace,
