This Weekend at The Table – The Particulars of Love
Hey everyone – this is a bit a longer weekly email than usual. Read to the end if you are interested in the party at the Plett Ranch. That will be happening on Saturday. See below for details.
On Sunday, we’ll start our exploration of “the particulars of love”. The concept is this – if love remains a generality, it’s just a word. Kind of in the category of “if a tree falls in the forest”, or “if a song is never heard”; still real, but not very meaningful in terms of the human experience. But when it’s shared in real ways, it can change everything. So there’s that…
But before that, on Saturday, there’s our first opportunity to hang out, eat, sit around a fire…whatever we can do to just enjoy one another’s company without any other agenda. It’ll be very casual; don’t let the list of details from about to follow from Corinne and I throw you off.
We are looking forward to sharing a beautiful day on Saturday with whoever can make it out to our place! Our home and yard are very kid-friendly. For those with little people, let us know if there is anything that might help this time work better for your little ones (we do have a play pen if that would be helpful).
Come any time after 4pm, and stay as long as you’d like. We want this to be as easy and relaxing for everyone as possible, so we are going to provide the food (Mexican!) and you can just bring something to add to it if you’d like. We’ll plan to put food out around 5/5:30. Here is what we are making: Mexican chili dip, beef taco meat, all the fixings for a taco salad, and a tex-mex rice.
If you want to make anything to add to this, bring guacamole, a bean dip, salsa, or anything else in the Mexican theme of things … or just grab a bag of chips on your way out of town!
It will be great to share the afternoon/evening together!
Two other details:
We’ll provide water and pop to drink. Beyond that, BYOB.
And…if you are able, please RSVP to this email if you are able to attend, even for a brief part of the time. It’ll help us know how much food to make.
Thanks,
Corinne and Tim
I would refer you to Google Maps, but they sometimes have one of the roads labeled incorrectly – not very helpful! If you need directions but don’t get our weekly e-mail, please send me a note at tim@thetablewinnipeg.com
Time? From the NORTH perimeter and Lagimodiere it is 15 minutes.
Hope to see you on Saturday!
