This week at The Table… An Urban Adventure at The Forks
Hi All,
Tim Plett is away for a few more weeks, and so we’re going to have another different sort of Sunday gathering. This time, we’re bringing it back to the city – The Forks, in particular.
This will be a low key get together, a chance to talk, share some ideas, and have a very casual conversation around an article you can read here: It’s Not that Deep lol.
The article is a column from the Winnipeg Free Press that was published in May and concerns an internet phenomenon around the phrase “it’s not that deep lol” that is often deployed to halt anyone from doing that most serious of sins, thinking deeply. As a group of people that gather to think deeply about many topics, it seems like it might be interesting to consider the hostility that is often aimed at that activity.
I’ll send out a message on the Facebook page Sunday morning to let you all know where to find us. We’re hoping to find a spot near the playground so that the kids can run around. If the weather does not agree with our plan, we’ll find a spot inside or at least somewhere with some shelter.
As a quick reminder, we will not be getting together next week, July 5th.
