Behind the Curtain – How We Develope Core Beliefs, Music and Kids Table

Jun 7, 2026

Hey all – When we gather this week we’ll be continuing our exploration about systems of belief with a bit of a deeper dive into those mysterious, below-the-waterline things called “Core Beliefs”. In the model we have used so far we’ve referred to this piece of the system as “Core Assumptions,” and I’ll expand a bit on why we use that language. We’ll also have some music (two weeks in a row!), and something for our youngsters.

We’ll meet at The Plett Ranch (e-mail me if you need directions or a ride and we’ll figure something out!). We’ll livestream here, and podcast later in the week here. We’ll start at 10:45 (ish) and end at noon (less-ish). If you need a ride, let me know.

Some important organizational housekeeping and schedule matters:

1. Summer Long Weekends: As some of you will know, The Table usually doesn’t gather on the designated summer long weekends. This year, that means there will be nothing planned for the Sundays of July 5th, August 2nd and September 6th. You can show up if you wish, but you will probably be all alone. 🙂

2. Gatherings while Tim Plett is away: As we discussed when we gathered last week, here is some actual information, complete with dates, etc. I will be away for the Sundays of June 21st, 28th and July 19th. If you have an idea of something you would like to host on one of those dates (and it can be anything, truly – a picnic, a coffee-shop hang and conversation, an “organized” stroll in your favorite park-you decide), please let me know. It could even be at a time other than in the morning.  (!!)  At this point, Tim Penner will be hosting June 28th (location tba), but the other two dates are still fair game. If you have an idea but feel unsure about it, please just ask me. I think the whole community stands to benefit from a variety of perspectives and ways of being together.
3. Venue – I think we might be making progress on a possible Exchange venue. I don’t want to generate unfounded excitement, but I also want to keep folks current. I’ll say more about that when we gather on Sunday.
I think that’s got it for now. I’ll see you on Sunday.
Peace,
Tim Plett
