What Were You Born For? (And Something Special for the Littles)

September 12, 2023

Well now…might as well launch right into the fall with a big ‘ol question. In this case, it’s a question that can take us many places, including deeper into our exploration of rest as resistance and healing.

By way of outlining some thoughts about possible answers to that question, here’s a response from Tricia Hersey, who has been functioning as our key guide in these inquiries. She writes, “You were not born to center your entire existence on work and labor. You were born to heal, to grow, to be of service to yourself and your community, to practice, to experiment, to create, to have space, to dream, and to connect”. Not an exhaustive list, but already so many possibilities! This Sunday, we’ll keep digging into where taking rest seriously might lead us.

And, for the younger people in our community, a bit of a “kick off” for the upcoming year of Kids Table explorations – an afternoon of outdoor fun. If you know of someone you think might enjoy this but who isn’t already connected to The Table in some way, please feel free to extend the invitation and pass along the particulars. If folks have questions, they can email me <tim@thetablewinnipeg.com> and we will do our best to respond in a timely manner.
Our in-person gathering will be in the usual time and place – We’ll meet at VA Cafe  (171 McDermot Avenue) at 10:45 a.m.  If you can’t join us live, consider stopping by the Facebook livestream, which can be found here. We will also podcast the Talky Bit the following week. You can find that and our podcast archive here.
I’ll see you on Sunday!
Peace,
Tim Plett
