Sacred Rest – Part 2
Aug 13, 2023
Hey folks – I’m looking forward to being back with you in person this Sunday, and I hope the long weekend was a good one for each of you.
This is a Full Circle Sunday, so we can anticipate some music, Community Time, a Talky Bit, and fresh coffee (or other tantalizing beverage) should you choose to avail yourself of it. These good things will all be present at VA Cafe (171 McDermot Avenue). We will start at 10:45 a.m. and wrap up by 12:00 noon. If this is your first visit, you can find us by going down the stairs at the back of the coffee shop. We’ll be the fine humans gathered in what looks a bit like a fish tank on the lower level. (If you haven’t been yet, that’ll make sense once you’re there.)
The Talky Bit this week will be Part 2 of the exploration I started us on way back in early July, a consideration of rest as a way of resisting some of the toxicity in the surrounding culture, and pushing into a new way of seeing…well, pretty much everything. Actually, in some ways it’s new, and in other’s it very, very old – ancient even. In any case, this particular week will include some consideration of the value of dreaming, so come prepared to reflect on what you think about that. If you can’t join us live, consider stopping by the Facebook livestream, which can be found here. We will also podcast the Talky Bit the following week. You can find that and our podcast archive here.
A couple of further details:
- By way of a correction to last weeks blurb, Theresa’s Talky Bit will not be available as a podcast but it can be found on our Facebook page.
- If this is your first visit (and you are arriving by car), there’s plenty of parking in the area. It’s free and not time-limited on Sundays.
- If you spent the long weekend baking and don’t know what to do with all those extra goodies, we have permission to bring such things into the venue. I’m not hinting – I’m informing. 🙂
I’ll see you on Sunday!
Peace,
Tim Plett
