alt.Sunday – The Truth About Waffles (and rumours about BACON)

Mar 5, 2023

To elaborate – if you show up this Sunday morning at 170 Scott (The Rainbow Resource Centre) at 10:45 a.m., you will have the opportunity to discover the truth about waffles for yourself. it might change your life. it might not. It’s impossible to say at a distance. Some things we can only definitively know by experience. Get my drift? (As a detail – we won’t be livestreaming or podcasting the eating of waffles).

The Details:
This alt.Sunday, we’re going to get together to eat waffles and talk. That’s the whole agenda. Judi has stepped up to make waffles. Toppings and sides, however, are everyone’s responsibility. So bring your favorites. In our household, that’s a pretty long list including some potential outliers such as nutella, peanut butter and homemade granola. (I know…granola on a waffle? Seems a bit redundant, like putting rice on your pasta. But some of our kids love it. Don’t knock it ’till you’ve tried it?) Also, if anyone has a gluten allergy or sensitivity, please email me at your earliest reasonable convenience so we can plan to have some gluten-free batter and a separate waffle iron ready to go.

Re: BACON – I can neither confirm nor deny the rumours. To paraphrase several recent high profile news clips, it seems probable that there may have been someone who leaked this idea at some point, so we can confidently say that there may be bacon present at this gathering. Others may disagree.  (See above re: can only be known by experience.)

Next Sunday will NOT have waffles, but it’ll have all the other good stuff, including the livestream and podcast.
Also, if you have a used yoga or exercise mat you would be willing to donate to The Kids Table, that would be lovely. Ideaily, you could bring those either this Sunday or next.
Alrighty. I’ll see you on Sunday. Come hungry!
Peace,
Tim Plett
