Hello everyone. Nope, this weeks Talky Bit is not the last word on human nature, although we can’t explore spirituality without touching on that. This week is The Table’s “Annual General Meeting” (AGM, to those that love acronyms). Now, before you conclude that this would be the perfect morning to have what the Brit’s call a “lay in”, we won’t deal with AGM-ish details during our main gathering. We’ll have our customary time together, wrap it up, get a coffee refill and then spend 15 minutes or so recapping the nuts and bolts of our last year. If you need to leave, there will be a clean break before the AGM in which you can head out to whatever is next in your day.
However, in the Talky Bit I want to do something I don’t do very often in a concentrated way, which is invite us to reflect together on why we do what we do at The Table. There will be neither a “call for donations” nor an “alter call” (did you grow up with those?) at the end…just us, together, musing about the merit of the mission we’ve set for this community. I would so appreciate your company, because in the final event, the “community is what the community does”.
This will all take place at Pantages.
