This Week At Sam’s Place…

Nov 20, 2016
Hello folks. I’ve had occasion to work with some organizations with bigger budgets than The Table.  (No, this blurb isn’t about money, nor is it a lament!)  In those settings, we would sometimes hear someone tell their story and make a plan to fly them in as a guest for a special occasion. Not a no-brainer, because bigger budget or not, having international guests is a pricey business. Thankfully, the days in which the only way to hear someone tell their story meant putting them on a plane are in the past. This Sunday, we’re going to have two “virtual guests” tell us ways in which they have acted in the face of the sort of compelling questions we’ve been grappling with these past weeks – questions about the presence of evil in a universe occupied by a good God, and what that means to the humans that share both that space and the “DNA” of that good Creator.  It’ll be rather different than our usual gathering, but I think it will be well worth our collective time to hear from these people. Come prepared to (mostly) listen…

Other Important Stuff:

Location: Sam’s Place. Sam’s Place. Sam’s Place.

Kids Table: You betcha!

Not Quite Christmas At The Table: That’s what I’ve been calling it, in my own imagination. It’s not a corporately approved title, but it feels like it matches the not quite typical date. Mark you calendar for a feast of food, music and good company to celebrate Christmas and more – on the not-quite-Christmas date of December 29th. We’ll be at Pantages. Doors at 5:30, Dinner at 6:00, Gathering at 7:00.

I think that’s it for now.

Peace to you all,

Tim Plett
