This week at the rug factory

August 24, 2016
Hello Tablers. Once again, I find myself compelled to explain my oblique subject line. (I know…I do it to myself, and there is no one else to blame.)  We’ve been talking about how you can change your beliefs without ceasing to have faith, and the metaphor of choice has been one of “unraveling”. Hence the rug factory. This week we’ll continue that conversation. What I’m hoping for are some stories from you about either seasons of unraveling faith, or perhaps what the experience has been like of having your beliefs about a particular aspect of your faith change. Depending on how that conversation goes, we might start to talk about what to watch for when you are “re-weaving” a belief or faith. We’ll just see how it goes.

And this was the week I was going to let you all know that we’ll be relocating in the fall, and ask you for ideas about where we might go. Turns out the Leadership Team (and also a kind stranger at a wedding I was attending last night) have ideas already in motion. Nothing confirmed, but we won’t be homeless. Still, if any of you have particular ideas about what might be a good home for our community, you can let the Leadership Team know by responding to this email. I’ll try to keep you posted of this chapter of the story as it unfolds.

I’m looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday evening.

Peace,

Tim Plett
