Spiritual Songs

Hey Tablers – this week is the last of our Wednesday evening gatherings for this summer. Kind of feels like another way of acknowledging the change of seasons, of activity patterns (or lack of them), of the change of rhythms. Personally, I love late summer and early fall, so that isn’t a lament for me. I’ve enjoyed our summer evenings together very much, but I know there are many people for whom they don’t work and I look forward to being able to gather the wider community of The Table once more.
This evening, Tim Penner and I are going to play and sing a couple of our favorite “spiritual songs”, and then we’ll open things up to a conversation about what some of your spiritual songs are, and why. Just a heads up – depending on what sort of church experience you might be coming from, this is NOT going to be an evening of so-called “worship music”.
And a note about our schedule transition – although this is our last Wednesday eveninggathering, our first Sunday morning won’t be until September 13th. I’ll send out more info about that gathering in advance, but for now just make your long weekend plans and enjoy.
