This Week on the (not so big) Screen
Hey folks – we will be gathering at Creative Manitoba again this week. I’ll take the bold step of putting the directions at the end of the blurb since we’ve now been at the same location several times. A novelty, but one that’s easy to get used to.
A couple of details:
Kids Table has begun it’s summer break. There will still be some designated space and resources for the littles, but no one will be assigned to their care. In that regard, just a reminder that the good people at Creative Manitoba would like us to provide adequate supervision when our kids are in the Sacred Circle, both to honor the “no food and drink” designation, and to keep them safe on all those steps.
Talky Bit – last week we started into a video-based consideration of the possibility of a “new” story – a way of thinking about the history of the universe as well as the way we work as humans that might provide a narrative idea to guide us as we ask what it all means. Asking what it all means seems to be the one human endeavor that almost everyone undertakes…and that also seems rather challenging to resolve. To my way of thinking, that makes it an exciting and worthwhile question to explore. And explore we shall. We’ll try to leave a bit of time for some conversation this week, even though we won’t get all the way through the video in the time we have. Those of you that were there last week may recall that we left off with the idea that we humans are “an exotic cocktail” of the same stuff that makes up both the earth and the stars. Not a bad place to pick up the story, I would say.
Directions: Address is 245 McDermot Avenue; 4th floor. Take the elevator (use the door nearest to where we put out the sign), or the main stair case (at the corner of McDermot and Arthur). Practice patience with the elevator and endurance with the stair case. Does “If it doesn’t kill me it makes me stronger” apply here?
Peace to you all…I’ll see you on Sunday.
