This Week at The Table Roadshow

Mar 11, 2018

Hey all – I can tell that spring is just around the corner because we’re on the move. It’s predictable / unpredictable…sort of like warm weather. In any case, keep a close watch on either your inbox (if you are on the email list) or the website. And if you’re looking at this on the website because you’re not on the list, I would encourage you to consider joining. It’s the best way to stay up to speed, especially when we have frequent venue changes. Email me at <tim@thetablewinnipeg.com> and I’ll get you added.

This week (March 11th) we’ll be test-driving a brand new space – 245 Mcdermot. It’s quite likely that this will be our venue for the majority of the dates between here and the end of June, with a few filler dates along the way.  For instance, next week…

Next Sunday (March 18th) will be a casual gathering and pot luck at the Plett ranch (lots of deer + lots of kids = ranch) near Birds Hill Park. More details on that in the blurb next week, but if you’re a plan-ahead kinda person and want to calculate the drive time, the location is just a few minutes from the East Gate of Birds Hill Park.

Venue info for this week – we’ll be meeting on the 4th floor of 245 Mcdermot, which is a space that is run by Creative Manitoba. There is an elevator as well as stairs, and more than one entry, so this might take a little practice. We’ll put out the sign at the main entry. Parking is on the surrounding streets – very similar to the Pantages and Hepcat arrangements. There is an excellent space for the littles, so don’t hesitate to come with the whole crew.

Time change – just a reminder that this is the weekend your clocks needs to “spring ahead”. You do the math. Just don’t be late, because as you know this is a church that is very punctual (insert general tone of self-deprecating Canadian sarcasm here).

Talky Bit – what happens when you apply bad logic to “prayer for I don’t know what I believers”? Show up and find out…or at least show up and join the exploration.

Media Team needs – I think we all appreciate having words to look at when we sing, and the occasional picture or other visual resource along the way. I know I’m deeply grateful for the folks that provide that support every week. Right now, that team has two stalwarts making it all happen. That’s not enough folks to make this a pleasant on-going task. Following is a blurb from Judi, a current team member and Media Team visionary:

We could use another two people to join the media team, making it a once a month responsibility for each member. I sometimes wonder if people hesitate to investigate becoming part of the media team because it involves (*gulp*) technology. In the last few months we have been experimenting with a new software application and are now going to be switching over to it completely. It is user-friendly and fairly easy to figure out. It’s shareware, so you can even download it on your home computer and play around with it to learn what to do. But we will still train you on it on Sundays.

If you are interested or even just curious, you can either talk with whoever is taking care of the projector / computer stuff in any given gathering (either Judi or Jodi – and no, your name doesn’t have to start with “J” to be on this team), or you can reply to this email and I’ll put you in touch.

Whew – that’s a lot of details. Email me if you have questions and I’ll try to be helpful.

We’ll see you on Sunday.
