The Evolution of What We Believe (A Full Circle Sunday)

Nov 26, 2023

Hey folks – this week we’re going to dive head first into a couple of ancient examples of the evolution of belief as well as touching on some contemporary examples of what can happen when we hold old ideas as non-negotiable, even in the face of mounting evidence that they need to change. I won’t unpack that in the blurb – that’s what the Talky Bit is for. 🙂

We’ll start at 10:45 a.m. (come a bit earlier than that if you want to buy something from VA Cafe before the start time – we’ve been keeping the lone barista jumping in the morning!) with some music and Community Time, then on to the Talky Bit. I expect this one will mostly use up the time before 12:00, but (as always) people are free to come and go as they are available, and we can always hang around and connect after noon.
Crowdsourcing Projects:
Project #1 – Ribbon for a Kids Table project.  Fabric ribbon scraps,  any color, 3/8″ wide or less. Contact Corinne or bring what you have on Sunday.

Project #2 – Song Suggestions. What songs do you want to sing as part of our Not Quite Christmas gathering on December 17th? We can’t promise to sing every suggestion (who knows how many songs that might be?), but we can promise to refer to this list first when choosing tunes. Send your suggestions to this email address, or text Tim (204 232 4574). Please.  🙂

Hold The Date: Our annual “Not Quite Christmas” gathering and potluck will take place on the morning of December 17th. We are not planning to gather on December 24th (Christmas Eve), but are planning a gathering at our usual time on December 31st. It’ll be the perfect occasion to bring extra seasonal baking, it seems to me. Can’t have those cookies getting stale now, can we?

I’ll see you on Sunday. We’ll go exploring together.
Peace,

Tim Plett
