Stuck in a Rut…

May 29, 2011

There is an old folksy truism that a rut is just a grave with the ends knocked out. As humans, we seem remarkably prone to getting into ruts. We may prefer to call them by a more flattering name – maybe routines or customs or habits. And sometimes, that kind of naming truly describes the behavior. Other times we are just being especially kind to our selves, and all those nice names are simply pseudonyms for “rut”.

This week we’re going to climb down into a rut on purpose, and join a couple of followers of Jesus down there for a look around. And since most of us don’t want to stay stuck in a rut, we’ll consider what happens when Jesus joins those same followers in their constrained journey.

Join us this Monday evening. There’s new terrain to explore!

Peace,

Tim
