Healing Haunted Histories – an alt.Sunday Part 2 and Another Thing…AGM and Pie Day this Sunday

Apr 6, 2025

Hey folks – as often happens when we engage with a topic in a way that includes discussion, we hit the end and wish we had more time. I wasn’t there last week but I’ve been told that is exactly what happened. And since Horst is both available and willing, we’re going to take the opportunity to extend the conversation and discussion on this topic into this week. For those that may have missed it, here’s a brief recap.

Ceiling Cleaning
Settler Storylines
Decolonization
???
What’s the connection?
Is there a connection?

Hmmm.  My understanding is that the conversation includes a metaphor involving the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and decolonization, which I already think is intriguing because it seems so unlikely. 🙂

Oh my less-than-organized brain “on travel” (at least, that’s my excuse)…as previously advertised, this Sunday is also our AGM, which we are celebrating by eating pie-shaped things together. If you’ve ever attended a Table AGM, you know it is scaled to our community. In other words, because we’re not very big and we’re a note-worthily lean operation with a very capable finance person, this part of our gathering usually only takes a few minutes. We’ll be looking at pie charts and (if history is any indication) may also be responding to Justin’s sense of humor, as viewed in the context of an AGM.

Regarding the Pie Day food theme – this simply means “foods that are round”, not “foods that are sweet”. But if you bring things that are sweet, you will not be turned away. 🙂  And, as always, you don’t need to bring food to be there, and to be heartily welcomed.

We’ll meet at VA Cafe at 10:45 am. Horst will give us a bit of a recap so no worries if you weren’t able to be there last week. Personally, I was sorry to miss Part 1, and I’m excited to be there for continuation.

I’ll see you on Sunday.
Peace,

Tim Plett
