Full Circle Sunday / Movie Part 2 / Easter
For those that might have missed it, last Sunday was a truly fascinating trip back into both modern and ancient history with a side jaunt into the near history of rock ‘n roll and hippie subculture. In simpler terms, we watched the first half of “Jesus Christ Superstar” and had a conversation about it. This Sunday we’ll restock the popcorn and wade into Part 2. Here’s part of what Tim Penner, our tour guide for this excursion, wrote about it for last weeks blurb:
This week (and next) The Table is going to the movies!
To celebrate Palm Sunday and Easter we’re going to be watching and discussing Jesus Christ Superstar, the epic Andrew Lloyd Webber rock opera! Always campy, controversial, full of ear worms, and ready to challenge your preconceived perspectives on the passion play, this image of JC is sure to give us lots to discuss.
Feel free to bring popcorn or other snacks, your curiosity over Judas’ bad rap, and an open mind about a band of singing disciples dancing in the desert.

Also, this week is a Full Circle Sunday, which means we will have Kids Table programming but we won’t be singing together. The music will all be provided by the movie. If last week was any indication, we’ll need all the time we’ve got for the film and conversation.
Also, Justin will be around to provide an update about the community’s encouraging response to our financial needs. Making a place where we can explore what we believe depends on the participation of many different people all bringing what they can. Thank you for doing what you are able to do.
We’ll meet at 170 Scott and get underway at 10:45 a.m. We won’t livestream the gathering (it would be a truly strange way to watch a movie), and there also won’t be a podcast.
Next Sunday is the third Sunday of the month and our Online Exclusive gathering, so don’t show up at 170 Scott unless you’re looking for some parking lot solitude. I’ll send out more info in the blurb next week.
I’ll see you on Sunday.
Peace,
Tim Plett
