Assembling Faith
Hello Tablers. It feels like it has been a fairly intense week in our
families life. Corinne’s mom passed away peacefully late on Tuesday
afternoon. We are so grateful for all the care and support we
experienced along the way – thanks to each of you that played a part
in this portion of the journey. Shortly after that, a family we are
very close to lost their father / grandfather to a protracted health
struggle. It’s been a week filled with uniquely dense encounters with
both the beauty of hope-filled faith and the ache of loss and grief.
Perhaps partly because of these events, this Monday evening I would
like to take us exploring in the land of what it means to “assemble
faith” with an open mind in our age. I’m not going to say much more
about that, but rather invite each of us to “come and see”. For those
of you that were expecting this Monday to be the third instalment of
Carolyn’s exploration of preemptive peace making, my apologies for any
inconvenience caused. I won’t trouble you with all the variables;
suffice it to say that this was a more workable solution for all
parties, and we can look forward together to the end of that series
the week following.
I am looking forward to gathering with all of you on Monday evening.
And just a reminder – hot beverages are back in our life together, but
it is a “bring your own mug” reality. So unless you want to experience
the joys of a communal coffee mug or just cup your hands and take your
chances, I highly recommend bringing your own container.
Peace,
Tim Plett
