And Bring Your Questions With You…

Apr 8, 2018

Hey all…we’re at Creative Manitoba this week. Following is the standard info about how to find the building, then how to find our gathering inside the building.

Creative Manitoba is located at 245 McDermot Avenue (fourth floor). Creative Manitoba Location Info

Here’s a couple of things we’ve learned about finding your way to the actual space: the address is McDermot, but the doorways are just around the building corner on Arthur Street. As usual, we’ll put out the sign by the door that leads up a short flight of stairs to the (slow to arrive) elevator.  There is also an alternative way in. If you want to take the stairs, the door you want is the obvious “main entry” that is on the very corner of the building at Arthur and McDermot. The sign above that door says “Pan Am Boxing” with a “Creative Manitoba” sign above that. Just remember – you have to hike all the way to the fourth floor (not the third floor, despite the Creative Manitoba signage on that floor) before you will find us. If you turn off too soon, you might find yourself surrounded by people throwing punches.

New facility info for this week: we will be closing and locking the door at the top of the stairs once we start our gathering at the request of the folks at Creative Manitoba, as part of their increased attention to building security. If you prefer or need to come later than that, please use the elevator. It will remain open throughout our gathering time.

Also, the building owner (not Creative Manitoba) has requested that we provide supervision for our little ones any time they are in the Sacred Circle space. Once again, a safety concern. And a reminder that no food or drink is permitted in that space.

Next week we will be at the University of Winnipeg, in their “club” space. It’s an interesting mix of “old money” and “cafeteria / lounge”. I don’t expect us to be frequent guests there, but I’m looking forward to the experiment. I’ll include more detailed info on how to find your way to that space in the blurb next time..

Media Team: We still need one more person to help us put things up on the screen We’ve got a new computer (shout out to some community members for generously donating that bright blue machine) and new software, so if you join the team now you’ll be at the front edge of the curve – in context, of course.

New-To-Canada After School Support: still booming, still needs some more volunteers! For more info, contact Corinne Plett   <tcplett@gmail.com>

Talky BitThis Sunday we’ll be touching on the importance of “rhythms” in our lives, as well as using a post-resurrection story to launch something called “question bursts” that arise from our personal (local) spiritual quests. And just for a change, we WON’T be having a potluck.  🙂

See you on Sunday.

Peace,

Tim Plett
