An entire church of exiles…

This Monday I want to start a conversation around faith crises.

In the past year I have found my thoughts and journal entries gravitate more and more towards this central theme, in both personal and institutional contexts. More recently, I have been greatly inspired by David Kinnaman’s book “You Lost Me: Why Young Christians are Leaving Church… and Rethinking Faith”.

Kinnaman especially focuses in on my generation (which he calls Mosaics) and our struggle to hold a traditional faith. These “post-church” Mosaics usually find themselves in one of three categories; Prodigals, Exiles, and Nomads. Without going into all that now, I will just say that we may have an entire church of exiles… and that is a hopeful thing!
