Why Stop Exploring?

March 1, 2015
Hello Tablers. In our gathering last week, I said that throughout Lent we would continue to do things just a bit differently in our gatherings, as a sort of collective expression of choosing to “knock ourselves out of our ruts”. It’s worth noting that even good things can become routine. When that happens, we’re less likely to be stirred by those things. For instance, how often are we deeply conscious of and deliberately grateful for our food? Most of us could probably make a long list of things like that…everyday goodnesses that have become assumed.

In the interest of becoming aware of the goodness of our weekly gatherings in a fresh way, this week we’ll be having a conversation with Donovan. I won’t take up a lot of space here introducing her – some things are just better in person. I’ll just say this…Donovan is an explorer. She isn’t the kind of person to just “settle”. In a spiritual community that says it exists to make room for exploration of belief, I think that qualifies her as an interesting person to chat with. Join us Sunday morning, and we’ll begin that conversation.

Thanks to everyone that brought and shared food with the community last week. I love Souper Sundays! They feel like a tangible expression of the generous spirit of care and nurture that I sense all around me each time we gather. We’ll do that again in a few weeks. Details will be forthcoming.

And speaking of details – if you or anyone you know needs more info about the where and when of our gatherings, check the website. You can find us online at www.thetablewinnipeg.com  That is also where you can find podcasts from previous gatherings, our general calender, options for online giving and more.

See you on Sunday!

Peace,

Tim Plett
