Walking In The Dark – A Love Story?
Hello Tablers. This Sunday we’ll continue our walk in the dark, in the company of an acknowledged master of the art. St John Of The Cross, the 14th century Carmelite monk and “most sublime of all the Spanish mystics”, was someone that knew not only what it meant to walk in the dark, but that this journey is much more than it first appears to be. So this week, he’ll be our guide.
Next week (February 8th) we have a couple of rather noteworthy happenings slated for the morning. It will be a Kids Table Sunday (always as good thing), and Kathy Francis will be leading the reflection portion of our gathering. As you probably know if you are regularly part of our gatherings, Kathy is someone that really knows how to love people – a gift she shares with joyful liberality. You may not know that she is also a creative and thoughtful writer whose ability to see the presence of God in the material world is finely tuned. From what she has told me, we can expect her to draw on that winsome combination when she shares with us. I’ll be away at a family wedding in Saskatoon, but I’m already looking forward to the podcast.
And as long as we’re talking about upcoming events, mark your calender now for our next Souper Sunday gathering, which will also include a (fear not!) very brief AGM report. The date for that gathering will be February 22nd.
Just a reminder – you can always access podcasts of previous gatherings at our “new” website, along with details about location and time for our gatherings, online giving options and other relevant matters.
I’ll see you Sunday!
