We’re deep enough into the “Christmas season” now that the messaging in retail land is starting to shift to the “last minute” theme. If you identify with that, you know we’re no where near the last minute yet – that’s way more than a week away!

This Advent season, we’ve been examining ways to push back against the sometimes overwhelming emphasis on spending that pervades our culture at this time of year. This week, we’ll continue that theme by following some stories – one ancient, one early 20th century, one contemporary, that address themselves to the question, “Can we spend less and give more”?
