This Spring at The Table
When my mom brought home seeds, I was always astonished at how small most of them were. Herb seeds especially-so tiny! And then the process of burying them in the dirt (the dirt, of all places!), and expecting something beautiful and sustaining to grow – it seemed beyond unlikely.
Maybe that is part of why Jesus chose to tell the Parable of the Sower, which we will continue to explore when we gather this Sunday. Put something almost invisible in a hidden place and expect something beautiful and sustaining to grow from it? Yep – it seems sorta crazy!
And yes- we are still gathering on Sunday morning, although this is our last morning gathering for a while.
The schedule heading into summer looks like this:
May 18th – Sunday, 10:30 a.m. (Kids Table)
May 28th – Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. (last Kids Table before it stops for the summer)
June 4th – Wednesday, 6:30 p.m.
(and so on, until September 3rd, our last Wednesday gathering)
You could mark your calender now for our September 14th (Sunday) gathering, at which we are planning to have a pancake breakfast, possibly with bacon. (Apparently, this is significant…)
