We Need To Talk…:)

Jan 22, 2023

I know, I know…if you want to have a productive conversation, one of the worst ways you could start it is by telling someone “we need to talk”. It just sends all the wrong signals, unless the signal you meant to send was “You’re in trouble, pal”. So no, we don’t “need” to talk. We “get” to talk.

Anyone that has ever felt like their community was kind of like a vending machine where you just had to live with whatever choices showed in the window might appreciate this. This Sunday, the voices in the Talky Bit will be yours. I’ll facilitate, but it’ll be a conversation. To prepare, you might give some thought to what you truly value as a person, and what those values might look like as expressed by the community of The Table. If you want to narrow the focus of that a bit, think in terms of The Kids Table, and how what you value might be expressed in the midst of our Littles. That’s what we’ll be talking about. And that conversation will be brought to bear on the wider consideration of what might The Table look like five or ten years from now.

This Sunday we’ll be meeting in person at 170 Scott, and we’ll start at 10:45 a.m.  As always, we’ll livestream here. In the interest of creating a safer space for sharing our thoughts freely, there will not be a podcast of this gathering. If you can’t attend in person but would like to be part of the live conversation or make a contribution to this process in general, you can either post to our Facebook page (same URL as the streaming link above), or by sending an email to <kidstable2023@gmail.com>.  Thanks also to everyone that dropped by the Zoom hang and conversation on these same topics last Sunday – much appreciated and much enjoyed!

I’m looking forward to this chat we GET to have. I’ll see you on Sunday.

Peace,
Tim Plett
