Souper Sunday & AGM!
September 14, 2012
Hello folks.
I’m all of two weeks into this series on Reboots in the Bible, and I already find myself at the limits of my chosen metaphor. When I started to seriously consider what I wanted to take on this week, I found myself looking at a story that involved something more like a system crash than a reboot. So…this week we’ll explore a system crash in the life of Moses, and see if there might be some parallels to experiences of change, and even to some aspects of our own situation as a faith community.
We will also be enjoying a Souper Sunday gathering to eat together, which we will combine with our AGM. In our brief history, we have found that sitting down to eat together is lovely in general, and also transforms that onerous thing called a “business meeting” into something much more pleasant. Among other things, we’ll be chatting a bit about some of our own future and initiatives that the Leadership Team is excited about as we go forward.
Come and join us. We will be meeting at 10:30 at 318 Ross (look for the sandwich boards). Remember to bring your own mug, and this week your own soup bowl, plate and spoon as well. If you forget, we’ll provide a back up…but really, wouldn’t you rather eat off your fine china than off something that might end up cluttering the landfill?
Note: If you would like to bring anything to contribute to Souper Sunday feel free to contact Maryanne at maryannejmeisner@gmail.com or just bring what your heart desires!!
See you on Sunday!
Peace,
Tim Plett
