Living in the Mess
Hi all!
Tim Plett is back on vacation for the next three weeks, and so some of us from the community will be taking over the talkie bits.
I’m up this week, and I’ll be talking about the in-between places, the dark nights of the soul, the wildernesses, the deserts, the intermingled messes that exist between the reality of the world and the seeming comfort of our ideological biases. We’ll be using Bruce Springsteen’s song “Darkness on the Edge of Town” as a guide, with a little help from Marcel Proust along the way.
As always, we’ll be meeting downstairs at the VA Café (171 McDermot Ave.), just head all the way to the back of the space and go down the stairs. Don’t forget to buy a coffee on your way past the friendly baristas! There is a lot of free street parking, including a loading zone in front that is not in effect on Sunday mornings.
We’ll also be streaming live on our Facebook page, but showing up has its perks, including great conversations with friendly folks, and freshly baked muffins on occasion.
If one of the ways you contribute to the community is financial, you can find options for giving here, including automatic monthly withdrawals, PayPal, and Interact E-Transfers.
Hope to see you all on Sunday!
