How To Adjust Our Stories Without Breaking Our Necks – The Pursuit of Happiness Part 12 or 13

Dec 4, 2022

I didn’t call last week “part something”, so I’m making up lost ground.  🙂  First the details, because there are exciting things coming up!

We will be having “in person” gatherings all through December – on the 4th, 11th and 18th. We won’t gather on December 25th. We can look forward to something special on each of those Sundays.

This Sunday, as you may have noticed on our Facebook page, Sheryl has posted an invitation for musicians to “sit in” with the folks who are regularly part of making music at The Table; basically to come and make music together on short notice. You can find the details here.. Pretty great idea…we’ll see who shows up! Singers are also welcome – see the page for details. And while you’re there, check out the pics of the Littles smushing cream pies into the faces of the whole leadership team. Unprecedented, but in a good way.

The Sunday after that (the 11th)will be a Kids Table Sunday. Always a reason to celebrate! Go littles!! Go Amy!!
And the Sunday after that (the 18th) will be our Not Quite Christmas gathering, as well as the first “Souper Sunday” we’ve had in a loooooong time. Plan to bring your favorite soup, salal or desert. We have access to two stove tops / ovens and lots of plugins, just in case your chosen feast needs to be kept warm or re-heated when it’s time to eat. We’ll gather at the usual time, but expect to stay a bit later if you want to join in the party.

Oh yes…the Talky Bit. Well, let’s just say that sometimes we get stuck in our stories and need to give them a tweak. There might be some better and worse ways to do that, and I’ll be offering a couple of questions for us to consider if we find ourselves needing to make adjustments to what we believe. And, as usual, we’ll put up the podcast version later in the week.

I think that’s plenty for one blurb, don’t you?

I’ll see you on Sunday – 10:45 a.m., 170 Scott Street.

Peace,

Tim Plett
