Christmas Celebration at The Table!

December 20, 2015
Hello Tablers! Whatever this mysterious feeling of “Christmas” is, I confess that for me there seems to be some sort of connection between it and snow. So now it “feels like Christmas”. Really…I would make a lousy celebrator of this season in a warmer climate. I just wouldn’t be feeling it at all…

But NOW…now there is snow, so as far as I’m concerned we can celebrate with abandon! And that’s what we’re going to do.

This Sunday, we’re NOT meeting in the morning. We’re gathering in the evening for a Christmas feast and celebration. Doors will open at 5:00, we’ll share a pot luck feast at 5:30, and we’ll mark the gift of Christmas together at 6:30.

I know it’s a busy time of the year, so I just want to reiterate that if you should drop by even if you can only come for part of the evening. We’ll feed your body whether you bring food or not, and my hope is always that your soul will be fed by the company and the collective celebration.

I also want to remind you that, if financial support of The Table is part of your participation in this community, then the deadline for receipt-able donations in 2015 is December 31st. We won’t have a gathering on December 27th, so if you want to give by using the debit machine or dropping off a cheque, this is your last opportunity to do so this year. You can give online anytime at the website by using the Paypal option. I just heard from Pugeni yesterday about some of the challenges facing the community we are partners with in Africa, and would love to be able to respond generously. Thanks for your part in that. It touches more people than you may imagine. I’ll say more about that when we gather.

I hope many of us can be together on Sunday.

Peace and Joy,

Tim Plett
