An alt.Sunday…kinda. :)
An alt.Sunday. Remember those? I believe “anything could happen” was the phrase I liked to use to (not very precisely) describe them. From my vantage point, it feels like we’ve been in this series about Religious Trauma Syndrome and related matters for a while now, and it’s time for a breather.
I’ll give you some details in a moment, but in general terms we’ll gather when and where we usually do (10:45 am, VA Cafe, lower level), we’ll enjoy some music and Community Time, then we’ll get into the Talky Bit. And that’s really where the “anything could happen” part kicks in. Here’s a bit of a teaser.
“In response to our community’s wishes to hear more about where we’re at, I’d like to share some of my path. We’re all on journeys here, and I’ve talked a bit about it before, but so much has happened since the last time I shared a sort of talky bit with this community. I’ll talk in the context of my work, because this desire to share more of my story with you came a few weeks back when Tim Plett said something that really clicked and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Too vague? Come find out what it was!” (Jane)
Some of you may recall that when we evaluated our past year and asked what we could do different / better, one of the ideas was that it would be interesting to hear people in the community share something about what they believe. Last week I gave us the homework of thinking about one thing we now believe that we didn’t used to, and one thing we used to believe that we no longer do. Keep thinking about that – we’ll get to the opportunity to share about that together soon.
In the meantime, try to ignore the forecast and come out to enjoy the warm company of your fellow explorers.
Please note: we will not be livestreaming or podcasting this Talky Bit.
I’ll see you on Sunday.
Peace,
PS – next week will be another shared experience we haven’t enjoyed for a while – a Souper Sunday! Get ready to get your pot-luck on! More details in the blurb next week, but for now the important thing to note is that everyone is welcome, with or without food in hand. If you are able, plan to come, eat, and hang out.
