And Now For Something Completely Different – A Song Sharing Circle

Jun 21, 2026

Hey folks – some of you might remember when “And Now For Something Completely Different” gatherings were a regular feature, which hasn’t been the case during this past season of uncertain / changing locations. But it’s back this Sunday, and in a delightful way! James will be hosting. Here’s his description of what he is imagining.

The “main event“ this week will be a song sharing circle. Whether you have a song or songs to share (live or a recording), or whether you just listen to the songs brought by others, please join us if you can! The Pletts say they are happy for us to meet at their house in their absence (Thank you, Tim and Corinne!), which is not only a lovely space but also convenient in that they have a piano and some percussion instruments if anyone wants to use those. If guitar is your preferred instrument, you may wish to bring your own. There will be an opportunity for “community time” sharing, and we will live stream this on our Facebook page for anyone who wants to join in virtually. As always, we’ll have coffee and tea and goodies are always welcome.

Here’s a little more detail about the song sharing part. My initial idea was to use this as a time where we could test drive some new tunes that could work in our weekly gatherings (I have 2 or 3 I will bring like that), but we don’t need to limit it to ones that fit that description. If you have any music that you think the rest of us would enjoy, please add that to the mix. Do you have an instrumental piece that you would like to share? Bring it! Do you have a recording by a favourite artist you would like the rest of us to experience? Bring that too (maybe someone could bring a Bluetooth speaker to make that easier)! It’s my hope that we can also enjoy the musical gifts of our younger members, so please ask your kids if they have anything for us as well! All those tunes they got ready for recital could use one more performance, right?  🙂

See you Sunday!
-James
