This Week At The Table
Hey all – this week we will be continuing our “Spiritual Songs” conversation with a “guest” from within our community, Donavan Heiken. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying our preperatory chats, and am very excited that Donavan is available to do this. Here is her take on where we’re headed….
“Greetings Tablers near and far,
I am a complete laywomen when it comes to the subject of music. These ears have not been trained to a precise tune, these fingers are not dexterous enough to master a symphony and these feet if asked wouldnʼt know the first thing about ballet. Nonetheless, as I reflect on my journey thus far, music has undoubtedly been an integral part of my experience here on planet earth.
When invited to share about my life with music at The Table I was conscious of all the things I am not, namely, a writer, a poet, a musician… Then I realized my voice isnʼt lost in the music but that music has helped give voice to some of my soulʼs crys. So, this Sunday I have the pleasure of sharing with you the different characteristics of a song
that move my spirit. Tim and I will simply have a conversation around the Table and I would love for you to be there.
Much peace & many blessings,
Donavan.”
Details of Various Sorts:
We’re continuing to put the team together for The Kid’s Table. The following message is from Amy Krahn, who is heading up that initiative:
“Hello to all,
If you would like to help out with Kids Table this spring please let me know. Email or talk to me on Sunday. We have the start of some fun ideas brewing.
Amy Krahn” <amyruth16@gmail.com>
Also – a reminder that the misnamed “skating party” is happening at the Plett’s place on March 8th. Start at 4 p.m., potluck supper around 6, hang time after that. RSVP helpful but not required. You can reply to this email or talk to me (Tim Plett) on Sunday.
See you on Sunday morning (10:30 a.m., 493 Notre Dame).
Peace,
Tim Plett
